Embino Lacuna

Embino Inc

Embino builds Lacuna, an app store for small apps.

Every app on Lacuna is assembled from one shared toolbox of modules and runs under one identity. When a module improves, every app built on it improves with it.

People now build small apps for themselves with AI tools. Most of them are the same app under a different name. Each one rebuilds login, permissions, files, and an inbox, and then nobody can find it.

On Lacuna you search for the app first. If one exists, you use it. If it is close, you fork it. If it is good, you vote for it so the next person finds it. Apps share running modules for documents, files, forms, math, and UI, and each app sees only what the person's role allows.

Founder

David H. Silver, founder and CEO. I write the Lacuna code and run its infrastructure.

Before Embino I co-founded Embryonics, an IVF company that used geometric machine learning, and led it through its acquisition by Rhea in 2023. Earlier I was a hardware algorithm engineer at Apple and an algorithm engineer at Intel RealSense. I hold 33 patent families and have published 17 peer-reviewed papers, including in Nature, PNAS, and IEEE TPAMI.

Careers

We are hiring a marketing lead to start community building and bring users and developers to Lacuna.
